Reality of Violence – A Choice
Sometimes I feel as if I’m lost in an alternative reality that is quite the opposite of what I imagine in my creative vision. I’m struck by news that my government (yes, mine – not “the” – because we are still a democracy, yes?) has systematically poisoned millions of birds. As the gun lobby is often quoted as saying, “This is a slippery slope.” First birds, then…
I am daily imagining/envisioning a coming world of Eden: clean, peaceful, joyful, healthy, cooperative. There will be emotion – it’s not so clean as to not test us – but not violent. Not violent by choice. As my radio partner Charlotte McGinnis, an expert of A Course in Miracles, would say, “Get a better thought!” Peace is a choice. Life is a choice.
Now the question is clearly how we encourage our fellow humans to stop the destruction, the rationalized hateful and harmful impulses. How do we raise our humankind to the higher vibration? That is the challenge. High vibration is the Hallelujah Chorus – the voices of humans sounding as One, it is a mother staring into the eyes of a wanted and loved child, cherishing, honoring and nuturing, it is a farmer gracefully and gratefully planting a seed in the ground knowing his family and his community will be fed with nutritionally rich, tasteful and energetic food. And, so much more. Each of you knows what a HIGH VIBRATION is. You have your vision. Share it if you care to. We will read every response. But, know that every statement of darkness and deeply low choices of human potential will be ignored. It is just not our reality. Censorship? No. Choice Point, yes. What do you choose? Love and Peace, Rev. Lindsay
It’s None of Your Business How Old You Are
Today is Charlotte’s Birthday and I’m always reminded of the title statement above when I think about birthdays. When I first heard it the giver described it as a Buddhist saying. Come to think of it, as time passes it is a very self-compassionate philosophy/policy to adopt. In our society one can let aging become a drip, drip, drip torture or embrace the collection of experiences and enjoy the wisdom and the view on the other side of the mountain. Believing, as I do, that we are eternal soul beings makes it even more fun to fantasize about what lifetimes may be ahead. As we create our reality know that thinking young is an elixir and enjoy every moment. Happy, happy, happy Birthday Charlotte and everyone else out there celebrating the joyous start of your current life.
